is a lecturer at Occidental College, California State University, Northridge, Chaffey College, Porterville College, and Irvine Valley College. Their first book, Empire of Brutality: Enslaved People and Animals in the British Atlantic World is forthcoming from Louisiana State University Press and will be published in fall 2023. They are currently writing an emotional history of healthcare work during the Invasion of Quebec in 1776 and the Sullivan-Clinton Genocide of 1779.
