We’re inching closer and closer to our first preview audience for Richard III here at Folger Theatre, and there’s no doubt in my mind that the energy the audience will inject into our intimate space will have a huge effect on the storytelling. These are the types of opportunities that we simply can’t explore until we have people in the seats, and I know that all of us in the cast are ready to take that next step forward and see what options are made available once you’re here with us. In fact, you are the missing ingredient…as theatre only exists as the shared experience between the storytellers and the listeners.
As I mentioned in my previous entry, I’ll be leaning heavily on video posts, so here are 3 from the past few weeks that will give you a glimpse of what we were up against. You’ll see me at the beginning phase of learning all of the lines, watch some of my initial impressions of our first day in the space itself, and then meet a very tired-but-excited me gearing up for our first day of technical rehearsals.
I promise more soon, as this week in particular will be especially informative, but I also welcome you to send me some questions about the play, the process, or anything you’re curious about!

See you at the theatre,
